Airbird (Joel Ford) and Napolian (Ian Evans) both released solo material on Daniel Lopatin's Software label during the early 2010s; Airbird released two 12"s of hazy, neon dance-pop, and Napolian released an EP of fractured, blown-out synth funk. The two artists found much common ground between their styles, and began collaborating in 2013.
