With a sound rooted in the scruffy jangle of '90s indie rock and a firmly confessional lyrical stance, the Columbus, Ohio quartet formed in 2012. Vocalist/guitarist Maryn Jones and bassist Amanda Bartley had previously played in a short-lived group named Wolfs, and when they split the duo decided to keep making music together. With the addition of drummer Jesse Withers, who also played in the melodic punk band Delays, they became a trio and began playing shows.
