After the dissolution of Denali, former frontwoman Maura Davis briefly considered taking a break from music and possibly going back to school. Before the Richmond, VA, native could enroll in classes, however, Davis found herself writing new songs that she wanted to pursue. With home-recorded demos on hand, she soon called upon Chicago-based bassist Stephen Howard (Pinebender) and drummer Ryan Rapsys (Euphone, Heroic Doses) -- who had both played for Denali on their final tour -- to join her new project in the summer of 2004.
