Ana De La Vega

Flutist Ana de la Vega has performed with some of Europe's top orchestras. She records for the PentaTone Classics label. De la Vega was born in the mid-1980s and grew up on a farm in Jerrara, New South Wales, Australia, near Kiama. She discovered the flute at age seven before ever having seen a flute or imagined going to an orchestral concert; she was playing in the farm's garden and heard Jean-Pierre Rampal's recording of Mozart's Concerto in C major for flute, harp, and orchestra, K. 299, on a speaker from the house.
