Active during the 2000s, Andersens served as a Japanese counterpart to the psychedelic and orchestral indie pop of the Elephant 6 scene happening in the States at the same time. Combining gentle twee melodies, moments of gentle folksiness, and Beatles-inspired pop-psych arrangements, Andersens released multiple albums in their most active times, and collected the best of their output for the 2020 retrospective compilation There Is a Sound.
