Best known for making rowdy tech-house as Claude VonStroke and for founding the popular dance label Dirtybird Records, Barclay Crenshaw explores bass music and hip-hop under his given name. After years of releasing major club hits like "Who's Afraid of Detroit?" and adventurous full-lengths such as 2013's Urban Animal, the producer released Barclay Crenshaw, a reflective but still quirky downtempo full-length, in 2017. He returned to the name with 2024's Open Channel, which incorporated grime, reggae, and jungle influences.
