Biography
A mid-'80s avant-funk band with some industrial nuances, Sheffield, England's Chakk was too late in the game to be considered alongside the pioneering post-punk likes of 23 Skidoo and A Certain Ratio, groups that Chakk resembled and took influence from. The group's lone full-length, 10 Days in an Elevator, was released by MCA in 1986. Tipped for great heights, the record failed to live up to expectations and the group split.
