Best known as the frontwoman of the dreamy Portland act Blouse, Charlie Hilton grew up in a bohemian Los Angeles family. Her father was a musician who wrote a new age Christmas album; another reflection of her hippie upbringing was the Sanskrit name, Palana, that her parents gave her at birth (Hilton changed her first name to Charlie when she was 19).
