Chasms

The project of Jess Labrador, Chasms craft darkly beautiful, remarkably empathetic music informed by shoegaze, electronic, industrial, doom metal, and dub. Chasms' dream pop influences were most prominent on 2016's On the Legs of Love Purified, but the project's musical and emotional range grew on 2019's The Mirage, a dub- and techno-influenced response to overwhelming losses. With 2023's Glimpse of Heaven, Labrador further refined Chasms' music, using a restrained, electronics-forward approach to convey its meditations on change.
