Colouring blend the occasional club rhythms and pop sheen with experimental influences like Radiohead to forge an atmospheric art pop. After establishing the project as a four-piece with a trio of major-label EPs, songwriter Jack Kenworthy went the solo and independent route with Colouring's debut long-player, 2021's Wake. The follow-up, 2024's grief-informed Love to You, Mate, relied mainly on piano and a synth sampler for its more reserved sound.
