Deer Scout's gentle introspections are the creation of New York native Dena Miller. She introduced her warm, articulate vocal delivery and folk-inclined melodies on a series of short-form releases in the later 2010s, including the minor viral hit "sad boy," before making her label debut in 2022 with the full-length Woodpecker.
