East Man

East Man is a grime project helmed by Londoner Anthoney Hart. Referring to his style as "Hi Tek," Hart's full-lengths such as 2018's Red, White & Zero are grime at its rawest and most direct, with angular, futuristic beats, hard-hitting rhymes from several guest MCs, and a complete absence of pop hooks. The music pays tribute to the sounds of U.K. pirate radio, and the lyrics are informed by London's racial- and class-related divisions, street violence, and the struggle for survival.
