Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes

Detroit techno originator Eddie Fowlkes uses the term "techno soul" to describe his music, which is rooted in Motown, funk, and Chicago house. Though he was present at the birth of techno, Fowlkes has often been overlooked in favor of the more press-hyped "Belleville Three" (Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson).
