El Club de los Poetas Violentos

Spanish hip-hop pioneer El Club de los Poetas Violentos, also known as CPV, made its live debut in 1993, creating an instant rap revolution throughout Spain. A year later, DJ Jotamayuscula, along with MCs Frank-T, Kamikaze, Paco, Meswy, and Nafri, recorded their first album, called Madrid Zona Bruta, released by Yo Gano. In 1996, Frank-T decided to leave the act to start his solo career. That same year, CPV founded its own label, Zona Bruta, recording La Saga Continua in 1997, moving to New York in 1998 to make Grandes Planes. ~ Drago Bonacich
