The Elijah McLaughlin Ensemble is a Chicago-based trio who meld American primitive guitar styles with vanguard jazz and modern classical music. McLaughlin is the group's composer and plays acoustic six- and 12-string guitars, and his bandmates include Jason Toth on upright bass and Joel Styzens on hammered dulcimer.
