Emily Saliers

An American singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Emily Saliers is best known as one-half of the Grammy Award-winning folk-rock/Americana duo Indigo Girls. Born in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in Decatur, Georgia, Saliers befriended her future Indigo Girls partner, Amy Ray, in elementary school. By the time the two were in their mid-teens, they were performing regularly at talent shows and local venues.
