Inspired by the loud, heavy guitars of shoegaze groups like Ride and the sweet melodies of dream pop artists like Slowdive, Melbourne, Australia's Flyying Colors formed in 2011 to make their own version of the sounds they loved. They nailed this sound with their first two EPs and 2016 debut full-length Mindfullness, occasionally nodding towards Madchester and space rock influences. The band returned in 2021 with a brighter, sunnier second full-length, Fantasy Country.
