Detroit band Frijid Pink carried the same hard rock power of better-known national bands of their time, bringing Blue Cheer levels of fuzz and the swagger of the Stones to their early-'70s output. The band had a minor hit with their overdriven rendition of "House of the Rising Sun," and they remained steadily active throughout the first half of the '70s creating psychedelic documents like 1970's Defrosted and 1972's Earth Omen before entering a period of dormancy in 1975.
