Grupo Fundo de Quintal (aka Fundo de Quintal), the pioneers of the pagode style, had their genesis within the Bloco do Cacique. The group started its professional career in 1980 and has won several prizes, including nine Sharp awards (the most important of Brazilian popular music awards).
