Croydon rapper Hardy Caprio (born Hardy Tayyib-Bah) gained early recognition for his work when he was nominated for the Get Rated award at its inaugural ceremony (its aim is to celebrate new talent). Caprio grew up in Croydon -- a hub for London's rap talents -- but he went to school in Bromley, a more well-off area of South London. His dual existence showed him that the drama he experienced in Croydon could be avoided. He began putting out his own music, including the EPs Hardy Season and The Hollywood EP.
