Named after the cult US novelist, Harry Crews was a short-lived project featuring Lydia Lunch (vocals), Kim Gordon (bass, vocals), concurrently of Sonic Youth, and Sadie Mae (drums). In 1988 the group undertook a tour of the UK and Europe, parts of which were preserved on Naked In Garden Hills, initially released on Lunch's own Widowspeak label. The album owes much to Lunch's confrontational style, although the tempo is markedly more upbeat than most of her work.
