Dance music converts with roots in indie rock, Peter Ricq and Robbie Slade formed Humans in 2010. The Vancouver, British Columbia-based duo debuted the same year with the self-released Avec Mes Mecs, a seven-track EP of buzzing, occasionally abrasive material with Slade's candy-coated melodies. Two years later, signed to the Canadian independent Hybridity label, they released Traps, an EP with more open spaces and softer edges.
