London's Hygiene put a vintage post-punk spin on 21st century D.I.Y. garage punk. After releasing an official debut in 2011, they returned from a hiatus with the sociopolitically antagonized Private Sector in 2019. Beginning in the late 2000s, Hygiene issued a series of self-distributed cassettes, as well as singles and EPs on small labels like Going Underground Records (U.S.), Dire, and Static Shock (U.K.) before signing with London-based La Vida Es un Mus.
