Bakersfield's Invisible Astro Healing Rhythm Quartet play a brand of funky, hypnotic jazz equally indebted to Sun Ra's astral meditations, Ethiopian musicians such as Mulatu Astatke, and groove-heavy psych/Krautrock bands like Can.
