As if you couldn't guess, Gaithersburg, MD's Iron Man started out as a Black Sabbath cover band, which eventually began writing original material inspired largely by the doomy sounds of heavy metal's founding heroes. With guitarist Alfred Morris III ever at the helm, Iron Man parlayed a number of demos dating back to 1987 into a record deal with Hellhound Records, which went on to release the band's debut full-length, Black Night, in 1993.
