Biography

The eldest child of Donald and Christina Stewart of the influential Scottish folksinging Stewart Family, Jane Turriff is one of Scotland's leading traditional singers. Accompanying herself on accordion and melodeon, Turriff gives voice to a repertoire that includes more than 100 traditional tunes, border ballads, and folk songs from the Northeastern Scottish tradition, as well as unique renditions of country songs by Jimmie Rodgers.
