Biography
Born January 11, 1958 in Buckhaven, Fife, Scotland, Janet Russell is as well-known for her with Sisters Unlimited as she is for her solo performances. Following an early career singing in the clubs of Edinburgh, Russell went on to support a number of major artists at the Edinburgh Folk and Fringe Festivals from 1980-1983. She also performed and recorded with Christine Kydd, performing on Folk on 2 for the BBC, and releasing Janet Russell & Christine Kydd on Greentrax Records in 1987.
