With the rise of laptop techno in the early 2000s came Jetone (i.e., producer Tim Hecker), one of the genre's more celebrated artists. By incorporating subtle glitch effects into ambient techno soundscapes, his style of techno had enough digital aesthetic to differentiate it from standard analog techno.
