British boy band JLS -- short for Jack the Lad Swing -- are best known for placing second behind winner Alexandra Burke on the fifth season of the reality talent show The X Factor in 2008. Featuring the vocal talents of Oritsé Williams, Aston Merrygold, Jonathan Gill, and Marvin Humes, JLS formed in London in 2007.
