Comprising Barry Stone (guitar, vocals), Tony Bice (bass, vocals) and Jason Meade (drums), US alternative rock band Johnboy formed in the early 90s and discovered a ready audience for their uncompromising, angular rock ‘n' roll. The primary thematic at work on their 1993 Trance Syndicate Records debut album, Pistolswing, was hate and loathing - a natural antipathy towards conventional rock emanating from the studio that won them admirers in both Steve Albini and Bob Mould.
