A versatile and well-regarded singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Jolie Holland combines traditional folk music with jazz and experimental rock elements. A founding member of Vancouver-based Americana group the Be Good Tanyas, she left the band after the release of their debut album, Blue Horse (2000). Since then, Holland has earned acclaim for inventive solo works like Catalpa (2003), The Living and the Dead (2008), Wine Dark Sea (2014), and Haunted Mountain (2023), which consistently push the boundaries of American roots music.
