Julie is a Danish singer/songwriter who embarked on a popular solo recording career after rising to fame on the television show Popstars. Born Julie Berthelsen on June 7, 1979, in Aarhus, Denmark, she grew up in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. She began her performance career in the 1990s, when she sang in a series of bands. In 2002 she appeared on the television show Popstars and finished as the season's second-place runner-up.
