Heavy in subject matter and sound, Boston's Kal Marks are quite adept at capturing the anguish and malaise of the average American. Frontman, guitarist, and principal songwriter Carl Shane led the group as a power trio sharing hard truths and dark feelings before dissolving the lineup at onset of the COVID-19 pandemic only to re-form as a quartet and release some of their weightiest records yet.
