Karl Engel

This superb pianist is known for his profound understanding of the music he plays, as well as for his ability to convey the composer's ideas to the listener in a convincing manner. Engel studied with Swiss pianist Paul Baumgartner and the legendary Alfred Cortot in Paris. In 1952, he won second prize in the Concours Reine Elisabeth (Queen Elisabeth Competition) in Brussels.
