Bassist/vocalist Karla Schickele was a founding member of alt-rockers Beekeeper (along with her guitar-playing brother, Matthew), as well as a member of the folk-pop outfit Ida, and a solo artist under the alias k. In 1997, Beekeeper released the single "Anywhere Will Do," and the album Ostrich in 1998, during their brief tenure together.
