Biography
In addition to fronting the Chicago ska band Heavy Manners, vocalist and songwriter Kate Fagan helped launch the Disturbing Records label to release her 1981 debut solo single. In 2023, Captured Tracks collected all of Fagan's recorded solo material from the '80s for the archival compilation album I Don't Wanna Be Too Cool (Expanded Edition).
Fagan moved to Chicago in the early '80s after spending some time in New York during the peak era of disco and exposure to what she saw as a pretentious, superficial crowd. She reacted to that lifestyle on her song "I Don't Wanna Be Too ...
