Lafawndah

Like some of the output from kindred spirits and collaborators in the extended Night Slugs family, including Kelela and Fatima Al Qadiri, Yasmine Dubois' work as Lafawndah could be classified as intimate club music and evades strict categorization. As a child, she lived in Paris and Tehran, later returned to Paris (where she studied art at the Sorbonne), and subsequently based herself out of Mexico City (where she played in the band Nidada), Brooklyn, and Los Angeles.
