Formed in 1973, this English jazz-funk instrumental group comprised Richard James Burgess (vocals/computer/drums), Andy Pask (bass), Christopher Heaton (keyboards), Peter Thomas (trombone/synthesizer) and John Walters (computer programming/wind synthesizers). They built up a loyal following by continuously touring and after a couple of years formed their own independent record label. Their album debut came in 1979 when they signed to RCA Records.
