Le Contour

Khari Lucas' artful meld of soul, jazz, blues, psychedelia, and avant hip-hop, combined with his tremulous voice, set his recordings as Contour apart. The South Carolinian musician began operating under the name as a beatmaker, but it didn't take long for him to step forward with an intimate if echo-drenched series of singles and EPs scattered from 2018 through 2021. Plugged into the label offshoot of South London's Touching Bass crew, Lucas made his full-length debut in 2022 with Onwards!, then moved to Mexican Summer for 2024's starker and intensely intimate Take Off from Me...
