The duo of Jeffrey Harland and Matt Bullimore formed Oakland-based noise pop group Legs in 2011. The two had been friends for a long time and had played in bands before deciding to join forces and begin recording. Inspired by the noisy pop found on labels like mid-'80s Creation and Flying Nun (Bullimore was born in New Zealand and grew up as a fan of the label), Harland and Bullimore spent a year as a duo recording project only as Matt learned to play drums and they honed their sound.
