Marc Hantai

Biography

Flutist Marc Hantaï has a large catalog of recordings, both as a soloist and as a member of various Baroque chamber groups. He is also a noted educator. Hantaï was born in Paris on March 23, 1960. He is the son of artist Simon Hantaï and the brother of keyboardist Pierre Hantaï and viola da gamba player Jérôme Hantaï, with whom he has frequently performed, individually and together as a trio. Marc attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, where he studied with recorder player and Baroque flutist Barthold Kuijken. He graduated in 1986 with a diploma avec grand dist...
