Venezuelan-born percussionist, composer, and educator, Marlon Simon is an expert in Afro-Caribbean rhythms, whose music blends Latin, jazz, and other global traditions. He first emerged in the '90s working with artists like Chucho Valdés and Bobby Watson, as well as leading his Nagual Spirits ensemble on albums like 1999's The Music of Marlon Simon, 2000's Rumba a la Patato, and 2006's In Case You Missed It.
