New York- and Europe-based Matana Roberts is an award-winning saxophonist, writer, composer, bandleader, sound experimentalist, and mixed-media practitioner. She works in many contexts and mediums, including improvisation, dance, poetry, and theater. She is best known as the creator of the multi-volume conceptual work Coin Coin.
