Max Tundra

The music that Londoner Ben Jacobs makes under the name Max Tundra is dizzyingly dense, labyrinthine, and hyperactive, but at the same time utterly effervescent, sunny, and obsessed with melody. First appearing with a 1998 single on Warp, he signed to Domino and released Some Best Friend You Turned Out to Be (2000), a full-length which mixed acoustic and electronic instruments (all sequenced on an Amiga 500 computer) and attempted to invent 11 different types of music.
