The Irish outfit Microdisney derived its paradoxical power from the distinct visions of its two frontmen, vocalist Cathal Coughlan -- a dark, brooding lyricist given to angst-ridden, incendiary wordplay -- and guitarist Sean O'Hagan, a gifted composer of atmospheric, seductive pop fare.
