Mighty Duke

A legendary calypsonian for his unduplicated feat of winning the calypso Monarchy four years in a row. Considered one of the major figures in calypso, Duke releases albums that are always of interest. He never fails to deliver a party soca for the Road March competition but has only once captured it (in 1987 with "Is Thunder"). His topics range from party lyrics to global concerns, addressing only on rare occasions something of local concern. ~ Gene Scaramuzzo
