New York City drum'n'bass duo Ming + FS pioneered their own self-described "junkyard" sound, deftly mixing and matching elements of old school hip-hop, jungle, electro, turntablism, and live instrumentation. Ming + FS met in 1996 while the former was spinning trip-hop sides at a house party, and after teaming weeks later to collaborate on a series of breakbeat tracks, they signed to the Brooklyn Music Limited under the name Leadfoot.
