A pop hitmaker, a masterful arranger, and an electronic music pioneer, Mort Garson influenced a remarkably wide swath of pop culture during the 1960s and '70s. Not only did he write Ruby & the Romantics' chart-topping 1963 single "Our Day Will Come" and provide the luxe string arrangement for Glen Campbell's 1968 smash "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," he helped introduce the world to the sounds of the Moog synthesizer through his music for commercials and his soundtrack for CBS' broadcast of the moon landing in 1969.
