Biography
The depressive black metal project of prolific Finnish-born black metal spellcaster Ville Pystynen, better known by his stage name Shatraug and related projects Horna and Sargeist, Mortualia specializes in atmospheric and relentlessly dread-filled slabs of funereal desperation. Shatraug's first recording under the moniker was 2007's eponymous Mortualia, which enjoyed an extremely limited release before being reissued in 2011. Blood of the Hermit saw light in 2014, while the aptly named Wild Wild Misery was unearthed in 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger
