Winning major prizes in the late 2000s decade, cellist Nicolas Altstaedt has gone on to a world-class career as both soloist and chamber musician. He is the director of the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival in Austria.
Altstaedt was born in 1982 in Heidelberg, West Germany. In 1996, he enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, studying with Marcio Carneiro.
